*With the Open coming to an end this weekend, we wanted to let everyone know about a couple of local competitions going on in the next couple of months:Stallion & Mare Derby presented by CrossFit Providence (425 Washington Street, Providence)Saturday, May 2nd at 9:00am-Rx and Scaled Divisions-Teams of 2: 1 Girl/1 Guy - Intermediate Level-$100 ($80 if your team registers before April 1st)-All participants will receive an event T-shirt.-3 WOD's for RX & Scaled + 1 Final event for top RX teams.Check out the event on Facebook by clicking hereJack & Jill Spring Throwdown at Old Colony CrossFit (241 Grotto Avenue, Pawtucket)Sunday, May 17th at 7:00am-Old Colony CrossFit presents the 1st Annual Jack & Jill Spring Throw down in honor of SPC Matthew Pollini.-Matthew Pollini was a Massachusetts National Guard Military Police Soldier who was killed in the line of duty in Al Kut, Iraq while serving with the 772nd Military Police Company. All net proceeds from the athlete registrations will benefit the Matthew Pollini Memorial Fund.-This is a team event consisting of one male and one female. There will be two divisions: RX and Scaled.
