Open Prep Series: Friday Night Lights Are Here!
The wait is over. The first workout(s!) of the 2015 CrossFit Open have been announced, and it's time to put all of our preparation to the test. If you have not yet registered for the Open, there is still time. Simply follow these steps:How to Register for the 2015 CrossFit Open on the Full Range Team1. Navigate yourself over to http://games.crossfit.com/2. At the top right side of the website, you’ll see a big red block that says “COMPETE HERE” in White. Go ahead and click there.3. If you signed up for the 2014 CrossFit Open, you already have a login. So there is no need to create one. Just go ahead and sign in with that information. If you did not sign up last year for either event, you will need to go ahead and create a login.4. Once you login, either with your already established login or with your newly created one, they will ask you some location information and ask for payment; the cost for the Open is $20.5. After payment is submitted, you will be brought to a screen that will ask you to designate two things; your affiliate and your team. For your affiliate, select “Full Range CrossFit” from the drop down; there are thousands of affiliates listed in this drop down but thankfully, it is in alphabetical order. For your team, select “Full Range” from the drop down.If you are on the fence about participating, please speak to either Adam or Alecia about whether or not the Open is right for you. There is a Scaled Division this year, so the door is open for many more people to take part that may have previously not been able to meet the movement standards required. I will also add this: every year of the Open, we see people do amazing things that they did not know they were capable of (first pull-ups, lifting PRs, etc.). If you are looking to find out what you can do in an exciting, supportive environment, then our Friday Night Lights are for you.
For our third year in a row, we will be hosting our Friday Night Lights events each week of the Open. We recommend that anyone planning to complete the workouts arrive at 6pm, in order to get signed up for a heat, and to start warming up.Friday Night Lights Schedule6:30pm- Athlete Briefing6:45pm- First heats begin*How long the event goes will depend on what the workouts are (This week, for 15.1 & 15.1a, each heat will last 15 minutes). We invite all of our Full Rangers to bring their friends and family to watch and cheer on those competing. The atmosphere that you guys help create is amazing, and if you haven't experienced it yet, you are missing out! Feel free to bring beer or cider, plus any kinds of snacks you might want. Children are welcome, but parents are responsible for making sure that they don't get in the way of any of the athletes or equipment. We can't wait to see all of you there!
